Pete Gas: I Remember Blowing Out My Crotch In Those Khakis With The Mean Street Posse

Pete Gas was not a fan of the khakis he had to wear.

Joey Abs, Rodney, and Gas were first introduced to the WWF at the time in the Attitude Era by Shane McMahon. All three were true friends from back in the day and Shave wanted them on TV to watch his back.

They were featured on TV for over a year before all being released or shuffled around. The Posse was very much known for their sweater vests and khakis, but Gas said in an interview with Rasslin that he was open to change.

“Yeah, after a while. We kind of wanted to change it up, and that was our signature thing,” he said when asked about switching up the look. “There were certain things they didn’t want us to change. One was, I wasn’t allowed facial hair. I wasn’t allowed tattoos. I had to be the clean-cut one. Rodney and Joey Abs got to do whatever they wanted. Rodney had a different haircut at all times. Shane wanted to have one clean-cut guy and that was me. No facial hair. I couldn’t grow a goatee back then. I would have had some kind of facial hair.”

When Gas was asked why a change couldn’t happen for him, he would go on to explain it:

“That was Shane’s advice, he wanted to keep that consistent. We had khaki pants for the longest time. At one point, one of us was blowing out the crotch in those things every week. Someone on Raw would blow out their crotch in those Khakis, so we had to go to something substantial. We used Lucky Jeans.”

During their time together in the WWF, all 3 members would win the Hardcore Championship before losing it very quickly.
