Drew McIntyre Was Originally Advertised For This Week’s SmackDown, Pulled For Unknown Reasons

There may be more to McIntyre’s WWE absence than just an injury.

According to PW Insider, Drew McIntyre did multiple local interviews over the past week to promote last night’s edition of WWE SmackDown in Lincoln, Nebraska. He would also feature on promotional material for the venue of last night’s show. This information suggests Drew was at least in preliminary plans to appear on last night’s show. This comes just a day after McIntyre blacked out his social media profile, removing all traces of WWE from his profile also.

McIntyre last competed at WrestleMania 39, eating the pin in a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship.

We will have to see what comes next for the Scottish Warrior, but his contract is not up until later this year, so this may in fact be a storyline, similar to how Bayley teased fans about possibly leaving WWE.
