Indi Hartwell Puts Over The Idea Of Slow Burn Storytelling

The NXT women’s champion likes the idea of a slow and steady approach to storylines.

In professional wrestling, long term storytelling is a bit of a rarity. While it still has its place in the sport, fans don’t always appreciate the story they’re being told when it is a long one. However, recent examples such as Sami Zayn and The Bloodline have enthralled fans.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Indi was asked if she preferred the slow and steady build as opposed to the instant gratification.

“I believe in slow and steady because that’s what I’ve been through. I thought to myself, if I get it all at once, where do I go from there? I’m still pretty young in this business. I’ve been wrestling for seven years, but that’s nothing compared to some people. I’m all about the slow and steady. I know it’s a marathon and not a sprint. A lot of my coaches tell me that. I just try to keep that in mind,”

Indi captured the NXT Women’s championship in a surprising moment back at NXT Stand And Deliver. She would then defend the championship last week vs Zoey Stark, defeating the perennial NXT women’s title contender.
