Earlier today, Bodyslam.net first reported that Sherilyn Guerrero, the daughter of Eddie and Vickie Guerrero, alleged that her mom’s husband, Kris Benson, had sexually assaulted her.
“Come 2020, right before COVID, there was a cruise that my family went on and basically on this cruise, um, I got sexually assaulted,” Guerrero said in a TikTok video. “And the unfortunate part is that it was my stepdad. Yeah, it was my stepdad.”
Guerrero also stated that she was not the only one who was assaulted by Benson.
Even more tragic, Guerrero said that she told her mother, Vickie, about the alleged assault, but that Guerrero made excuses for him and ultimately ‘chose him’ over her daughter.
“There was basically a conversation,” Guerrero said. “I have told my mom how uncomfortable I am with him after it happened. And basically, she was always telling me ‘It was a mistake; it’s not who he is.’ Just kind of like, ‘I’m sorry, that’s not my problem,’ type of deal. And I never really felt like she protected me.”
Guerrero said that her mother believed that Benson was supporting not only Vickie, but her as well.
“Moral of the story is, she thought ‘I owe this man everything. I owe him respect. I owe him all this stuff,” Guerrero shared. “Last time I checked, anybody that handles me like that, physically, doesn’t get my respect. And I really tried to tell my mom that but she took it as a way of disrespect to her and her relationship. And that meaning, she doesn’t want anything to do with me if I disrespect her relationship.”
Guerrero said that her mother has blocked her phone number.
“Like, I can’t even call my mom and she’s the closest family I know to me,” Guerrero said.
Now, after the new came to light about Guerrero’s assault, her cousin (and Eddie’s nephew) Chavo Guerrero has come out in support of the young woman.
“Just to let everyone know, I fully support my cousin, Sherilyn Guerrero, Eddie’s daughter, & have been doing so privately in the last couple years of her struggles,” Chavo wrote on his Twitter page. “She is a very strong woman for coming forward with the sexual assault she has suffered. I love you prima!”
Sherilyn Guerrero said that this situation has caused a rift between her and her mother, as well as her and her sister – to the point that the women don’t even speak anymore.
The Internet Wrestling Community has come out in droves to support Sherilyn, and they will continue to do so.
Vickie Guerrero, nor her husband, have offered any sort of comment on the allegations. Guerrero previously tweeted that the two were on a cruise.
