Cody Rhodes made a triumphant return to the ring at the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble, as fans immediately became elated after seeing him and then some. Rhodes would end up winning the whole thing as well.
The American Nightmare is set to face off against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Title at WrestleMania 39. The company has been building up Rhodes for the event for good reason.
While speaking on WrestleBinge, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long talked about Cody Rhodes’ current run in the company. Long stated that he believes Rhodes will Outshine John Cena one day.
I think Cody Rhodes will certainly outshine John Cena any day. You know what I mean? He’s certainly a great competitor. I’ve known Cody Rhodes since he was a little bitty boy playing on the softball team. I have been on the beat with his father, Dusty Rhodes, God rest his soul. He gave me my first job, so I never will forget that. But Cody Rhodes, I guarantee you will outshine John Cena any day.”
We will have to wait and see whether Rhodes can win the match. After all, a win over Reigns would help him become a bigger star and perhaps someday outshine John Cena.
