Miro Thinks The AEW Interim Championship Is Beneath Him

Miro wrestled at Forbidden Door for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship but there’s more too it than just winning a new title.

Miro recently sat down with WhatCulture Wrestling for an interview, where he explained that he feels the Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi match for the AEW Interim Title at Forbidden Door was beneath him. Miro instead tried to win the All-Atlantic Championship, which he was unsuccessful at when PAC won, because if Miro wanted the world title, he’d wait for the real champion, CM Punk. This is what Miro had to say;

[Jon Moxley vs Hiroshi Tanahashi] is beneath me, man, that’s a secondary title. That’s not what I care about. If I would’ve cared, I would’ve put myself in that battle royal, I would’ve won it all, and I would’ve gone for the Interim Championship. But until the real champion is back, that [CM] Punk guy that broke his foot or whatever he did — something broke in his body — until he comes back, I beat him for the title, then it wouldn’t matter. I wasn’t interested in charity titles.

Understandable that Miro doesn’t want to hold a Interim Championship, so, he will have to wait until CM Punk makes his return and defends against the Interim Champion, which is currently Jon Moxley. Whoever comes out of that match as the sole champion, may possibly have Miro standing in their way.
