WWE Will Not Fire Banks And Naomi For Fear Of Them Joining AEW

It seems Sasha Banks and Naomi may not lose their jobs over their walkout.

This week on RAW, we learned that Naomi and Sasha Banks had left the taping, handing in their titles. This caused rapid changes to the main event for the night. A 6 pack challenge had been booked for the main event, a match that Naomi was scheduled to win. The tag champions cited creative issues while WWE released a statement during the show detailing the walkout.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Sasha Banks and Naomi’s situation in WWE. He explained that the company won’t fire them due to the fear that they will just go to AEW.

“If it was another time and another place, it’s very possible that they would have been fired, but it’s this time and this place. I remember when the Charlotte Flair thing happened with Becky Lynch and I was talking to people there and it was kind of, like, if it was another time and another place, yeah, they would have fired Charlotte Flair for what she did on live TV screwing up the angle on purpose.”

“But it’s, like, do you want to send her to AEW? No. And essentially nothing happened and they don’t want to send either of them to AEW. Then you’ve got the whole Naomi married to Jimmy Uso…It’s just a waiting game to see what happens next.”
