Mustafa Ali Return To TV Discussed By WWE Officials

Mustafa Ali has been out of action for a while since he asked for his release from the WWE.

Following the failing of the Retribution stable, Ali stagnated on TV for a short period and stopped working TV shows and publicly asking for his release on Twitter. His last appearance was a match with Drew McIntyre in October of last year. He has been absent from our screen since.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that WWE have internally discussed the idea of bringing Ali back onto tv. There was a pitch made for him to actually appear on WWE Raw Monday, though we can never be sure that something like that will actually happen until he appears on the air, due to the constant changes of the program.

“Fightful Select has learned that as of this weekend a possible return to WWE television for Mustafa Ali was discussed. There was a pitch made for him to actually appear on WWE Raw Monday, though we can never be sure that something like that will actually happen until he appears on the air, due to the constant changes of the program.”

“Ali has not appeared on WWE programming since October, and had been booked to lose 11 consecutive matches across Raw, Smackdown and PPV. He was drafted to the Smackdown brand in the fall, but had an argument with Vince McMahon over his creative direction that led to him being off television, and not backstage for months.”

This will come as welcome news to fans of the star, as it was unknown if we would ever see Mustafa on our screens again and hopefully when Ali returns to our screens, he is given a storyline befitting of his talent.
