Ronda Rousey Says It’s Hard For Her Not To Take It Personal When Fans Talk Trash

Ronda Rousey made her WWE return at the 2022 Royal Rumble, when won from the 28 spot and earned the right to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38.

In an interview following the 2022 Royal Rumble, Rousey noted the positive reaction from the fans but said she wouldn’t fall for it “this time.” While speaking during a gaming stream on Facebook, Ronda Rousey admitted that it is difficult for her to not take fan reactions personally.

It’s hard not to take it (trash talk) personally from the fans because I don’t go out there as — I mean I do go out there as a character but I am also — I am actually Ronda Rousey so I don’t play Ronda Rousey on television. So sometimes I take it personally from the fans, not so much from the wrestlers. The fans, I do. It’s such pressure when I’m the last on the show because I feel like it’s my responsibility to retain the ratings and deliver, you know? You don’t want people to be disappointed.

We will have to see how Ronda and WWE fan interactions go this time around. During her appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble, she did receive a huge pop as soon as her music hit, so if that is any indication on how fans feel towards the former UFC Champion, things may be better.
