Chris Jericho is set to have a sit down interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin on the Broken Skull Sessions, and many people are expecting an interesting situation.
Obviously many people are wondering just how the interview will go considering Jericho is now with AEW, who many view as WWE’s direct competitor. People are wondering if he’ll be asked about the company, but one person doesn’t think this interview will be as controversial as some think.
CM Punk talked to TMZ about his thoughts on the upcoming interview and true to him, he gave his honest viewpoint on this. While Punk expects AEW might be brought up, he expects to hear the interview center more around Jericho’s WWE tenure.
“It feels like it’s gonna be softball questions. I don’t know if they’re going to ask Jericho all the tough questions — and nor do I think that they possibly should.” “It will probably just be like a feel-good interview. They’ll talk about Jericho’s past at WWE, I’m sure they’ll mention AEW but they won’t get into the hard questions that I think a lot of people would be interested in.” “Anytime anybody’s talking about you, it’s good. There will be people who don’t know AEW exists who will watch it and say ‘Oh wow cool, I didn’t know that, I just thought Jericho was retired.’ But, there is also something to be said about keeping your guys special and the only place you can see the superstar is on my television show.” “It’s new age and I think both companies need all the eyeballs they can get at the moment so kudos to everybody involved.”
There are going to be a lot of eyes on the interview for obvious reasons. While Punk doesn’t expect anything massive to be talked about during the interview, that doesn’t mean we won’t hear something we wind up talking about in depth following the interview. Obviously all eyes will be on this upcoming interview and for many good reasons.
