While nothing has been said aloud, it seems like NXT will have a presence on WrestleMania week.
The last few years have had a tradition of NXT having a TakeOver the weekend of WrestleMania, though some of that had to be moved around last year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though they haven’t announced the next TakeOver yet, it may have been spoiled to fans thanks to the upcoming move to Peacock.
As fans cancel their WWE Network subscription to lock in Peacock subscriptions with the upcoming move, a message to persuade fans not to cancel says fans who cancel will miss Fastlane on March 21st, NXT TakeOver on April 8th, and WrestleMania. While the two pay per views have long been locked in and confirmed, the announcement of TakeOver is new.
The WWE had originally talked about having NXT as a presence on WrestleMania, but it seems like with a TakeOver only a couple days prior to the show of shows, this might just be why WWE has changed their mind on that idea. While TakeOver hasn’t been confirmed yet, it might just be around the corner. As always, we’ll have updates on Bodyslam when they become available.
