Cody Rhodes had a call with the media prior to tonight’s AEW Dynamite, here are some of the notes from that call.
- Cody is asked about the Paul Wight signing, and if he would like to see more legends/people with experience like his come to AEW. Cody says Paul was a huge part of his career, talks about their Wrestlemania match, says the negotiation process was short because he wants to be here.
- Cody is asked how important it is to have a latina wrestler like Red Velvet by his side. Cody talks about the importance of diversity. Says that today the best wrestlers are from all around the world, and that he wants to continue to cultivate scouting for talent worldwide.
- Cody is asked about Red Velvet and will she be signed full time with AEW. Cody says that she has stepped up lately, and that he hopes that she will become a full time member of the locker room and company. Cody says that if things go well tonight he would like to advance things.
- Cody is asked about the reports of NXT moving to Tuesday nights, and what he thinks that means for AEW being unopposed on Wednesday. Cody thinks that if they do move, that something else will end up on Wednesday. He points out that Dark runs on Tuesday.
- Cody is asked about the return of the NWA, and what this means about the working relationship between AEW and NWA. He says that he definitely thinks that we will see more cross promotion with not only the NWA, but IMPACT, NJPW, etc etc.
- Cody is asked how Elevation is going to be different from Dark and Dynamite. Cody hypes Paul Wight on commentary. He says it will be similar to Dark but will focus more on individuals from their roster. Says we will get a lot of sit downs with Tony Schiavone.
- Cody is asked how much convincing it took to get Tully back in the ring tonight. He says he doesn’t think it took much. Says he was ready to do it, and there should be some surprises tonight.
- Cody is asked about the taping schedule now that the company is adding all the new content and shows, and if they still plan on taping most over one night. He says that they will have to figure out the best logistically to give the best experience to the fans.
