Lars Sullivan Says He’s Done With Pro Wrestling

The obvious dominating news of the day is the release of Lars Sullivan. WWE quietly released Sullivan some time ago, putting an end to the WWE tenure of a talent who Vince McMahon wanted to push to the moon and yet somehow failed to launch on multiple occasions. The news of his release came to no one’s surprise, for many reasons no doubt.

Fightful Select managed to contact Lars Sullivan to talk about his WWE release, and he has confirmed it was the case. He actually revealed he was surprised the company didn’t announce it, but he said they handled his termination with “compassion and honesty.”

Sullivan also revealed he told the company he’s done with pro wrestling “after battling crippling anxiety.” Sullivan revealed to Fightful it was getting to a point he was struggling to eat on days he was set to appear on television, also having problems with sleeping. He referred to the last year as a “roller coaster” and owned up to his mistakes.

Sullivan called himself his own worst enemy, and owned up to multiple issues that prevented him from gaining traction in what he called his dream job.

Sullivan told us that he’s likely done with wrestling, and again took responsibility for the issues that led to that, calling some actions “idiocy” and “his own selfish behavior.”

It seems that Sullivan was actually finished with the company months ago, the news is just now getting out. And while it seems Sullivan may no longer be seeking a career in the squared circle, it does sound like he’s working on getting better. Depression and anxiety are no jokes, and mental health is something that should be taken seriously whether man or woman.
