Update On Erick Rowan’s AEW Status

One question that has been on the mind of many people over the last few weeks is the status of Erick Rowan, now known as Erick Redbeard.

Redbeard has been a free agent since being released during the COVID-19 pandemic, but made a shock appearance a couple weeks ago at the Brodie Lee tribute show AEW put together. Shocking everyone as he aided John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Hangman Adam Page by making sure Wardlow wouldn’t interfere, he returned to help the trio celebrate Lee’s memory in an emotional moment and one of the most touching of a night full of touching moments in honor of the late Exalted One.

During the Dynamite post-show live on YouTube, Tony Schiavone was asked about his status, and he revealed that Rowan was asked to appear to pay tribute to Brodie, but no deal has been signed between the parties currently.

“I believe Erick’s appearance only came on that tribute show to his former tag team partner. Then again, I say that but who knows? He might show up tomorrow.”

Tony Khan has been known to surprise us so far, but so far there’s no surprise there with Rowan. We’ll wait to see what happens next. You can watch the post-show episode below.
