Jay White Quietly Removed From NJPW’s Roster Page

One of the biggest stories in pro wrestling in 2021 so far has been the status of New Japan Pro Wrestling star Jay White. White said he was quitting New Japan following his loss to Kota Ibushi and since then many stories have popped up.

WWE is said to have strong interest and many of their stars are going to bat for Switchblade. However, AEW courted White as they were building their roster to start their programming and wound up finding out he had inked a 7-year deal with New Japan. Throw in the fact White was on promotional posters for their upcoming tour, and many people assumed it was just an angle.

Things have taken another turn though, as NJPW has removed White from the active roster page. While it’s likely just enhancing the angle White is leaving the company, it’s still strange to see them taking things this far right now for a company that’s not always this cryptic with their storylines.
