More Details On WWE Pulling Advertising Seth Rollins’ Return On SmackDown

Earlier today, we reported that Seth Rollins had been scrubbed from advertising for this week’s SmackDown. While Rollins was initially reported to be making his return to the blue brand on Friday night, a tweet advertising Rollins was removed from the @WWEonFox account that had advertised his return.

Ringside News did some digging into the situation, and it turns out this was a miscommunication between parties. They were told that the WWEonFox account “went with information that was ‘possible’ instead of information that was ‘final.'” They went on to report that this “happens more thank you think.”

While Rollins may still show up this Friday night, it’s not guaranteed. Considering a return for a talent like Rollins would be best served to have a legitimate announcement to pop the ratings or even for a bigger moment like the Royal Rumble, promoting his return in advance would also definitely be something the company would do to help get eyes on an episode of Smackdown on a holiday like New Year’s Day.

In short, the announcement for Rollins’ return was not official and the deleting of the tweet was them clearing up the error.
