Will Hobbs Discusses His And Daily’s Place Reaction To Sting Debut

Sting’s debut Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite was a shock to the wrestling world for both fans and wrestlers. Moments like that make you wonder how the reaction was in the venue if you weren’t there.

Will Hobbs wasn’t just there, but he had great seat to watch it all this past Wednesday. He was in the ring with the rest of Team Taz as they assaulted Cody & Dustin Rhodes, Arn Anderson, and Darby Allin when Sting finally arrived.

Busted Open Radio had a chance to talk to Hobbs about it and he definitely could remember his own personal reaction.

“I’m very happy. Shit shocked the hell out of me. It was almost unreal. I’m just standing there like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ It was like an out of body experience. Growing up watching Sting over the years, when I saw him come out, I was like, ‘We gotta bounce.’ That shit was unexpected. It almost sounded like it was a full arena. I’m yelling ‘Oh my God!’ and I could barely hear myself. It was the loudest I have ever heard that place.”

Hobbs did have to put his quote into context, however. He admits that he hasn’t been in Daily’s Place during an event where they could have as many fans as they could squeeze in, just the smaller COVID-19 restricted crowds. He did say that the he believed the crowd was louder that night than it was when he was there for All Out. Putting it in that context makes you wonder how that reaction would have been during a typical times, but it was still a memorable one and a moment that is definitely going to stand out in AEW history.
