The Miz won the rights to the Money In the Bank briefcase at Hell In a Cell and has been teasing using it since, including a warning to Drew McIntyre following Raw last night and McIntyre’s win.
The briefcase had originally been won by Otis, and fans were left wondering why the WWE would pass off the briefcase if they were trying to build a new star in Otis, but it was soon found out Vince has lost interest in pushing the former Heavy Machinery member.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer remarked that they put the briefcase on Miz for “a big reason,” as it has been said the WWE wanted someone to carry the briefcase into the next year.
Though it’s completely unsure why Otis couldn’t have been that person, Miz seems to be a good foil at the moment for McIntyre as they work to give him new challengers for his new reign as the WWE Champion.
