MLW Issues Statement On Brian Pillman Jr.’s Status With Company Follow Appearance On AEW Dark

Brian Pillman Jr. appeared on this week’s episode of AEW Dark, despite the fact that he is currently signed with Major League Wrestling.

Pillman Jr. commented on his recent appearance on AEW Dark on twitter. Pillman stated that this won’t be his last appearance in an AEW ring.

“This won’t be my last opportunity in an AEW ring! Every time I step into that ring is a chance to show my worth, a CHALLENGE that I will rise to!“

Brian Pillman Jr. recently spoke with Louis Dangoor of WrestleTalk. He stated that there was a provision in his contract allowed him to go pursue work for AEW since MLW is on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the interview, Pillman also said that he wasn’t sure when MLW’s next event would take place. He added that not having a sense of security “made it easier to look somewhere else for work.”

“I truly wish MLW all the best in their future endeavors. It appears that they removed me from the roster, which is completely understandable.”

“But I was never really informed about their status with me. I simply informed them that I was going to go look for other work. No hard feelings, it’s all business, but yeah, they have a lot of great talent and I wish them all the best.”

MLW’s Jason Saint Laurent released the following statement via WrestleZone:

Brian is not released and is fully aware of our schedule, which includes events October 3rd and December 5th pending the state of the pandemic. We put the health of our talent/staff and their family and our fans before bookings, which is why we are not running at the moment. We’ve been in contact with Brian to relay this. If he elects to perform elsewhere under the terms of his deal, he certainly has our full blessing to do so.

We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about the future of Brian Pillman Jr. and his status with MLW or AEW.
