Former WWE Cruiserweight Austin Aries To Debut For MLW

Major League Wrestling has come back from hiatus as a wrestling promotion a little over a year ago. They went from being strictly a podcast company, to having a one off pay per view, to becoming a weekly televised wrestling show.

They have signed some wrestlers to contracts and others work on a per night basis. The Hart Foundation, Tom Lawlor, Low Ki, Sami Callihan, The Lucha Bros, MJF among others, have been the stars of the promotion.

MLW announced today that they will be having a new wrestler debut for them in the tweet below.

Austin Aries is a big get for the company. The man has name value and star making qualities, but he also has his fair share of controversy.

From leaving WWE, to his ex-fiance saying she doesn’t want to be associated with him, to leaving Impact wrestling in an unprofessional manner, to fighting on Twitter with Sami Callihan.

MLW has a history of taking troubled performers that seem to be “blackballed” from the industry and rehabilitating their image. Most notably Teddy Hart and Rich Swann. Not much is known about the Callihan and Aries beef over Twitter and how that will translate to the MLW locker room. Time will tell how Austin Aries’ and MLW’s relationship will play out.
