Outcome Of WWE Universal Title Match At Royal Rumble Reportedly Still Undecided

This year’s WWE Royal Rumble PPV will take place on January 27th from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

The WWE Universal Championship will be on the line as champion Brock Lesnar is scheduled to face Braun Strowman at the Rumble in a highly anticipated rematch. Lesnar captured the vacant Universal Title back at WWE’s Crown Jewel PPV back in October after Roman Reigns relinquished the belt due to his ongoing battle with Leukemia.

We saw a very awkward confrontation between Strowman and Lesnar on this week’s episode of RAW, it was later reported that the reason the segment appeared to come off so flat was because Strowman apparently forgot his lines.

The WWE Universal Championship plans were discussed on the latest episode of Barn Burner’s No Holds Barred podcast. Joseph Peisich reported that WWE is still currently weighing their options as to which way to go for the finish.

Regarding the outcome of the WWE Universal Title Match at the Royal Rumble, Peisich said:

“Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, you saw the confrontation on RAW tonight. They don’t know what direction they’re going to yet. Could Braun Strowman win the title or could Brock Lesnar keep the title heading into WrestleMania? They don’t know what direction they’re going into yet. So a lot of things are up in the air with WrestleMania and with the Royal Rumble and with WWE.”

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about plans for the Universal Title or WWE’s Royal Rumble PPV.
