LA Knight has remained one of WWE’s most popular superstars of the past couple of years. He has been given multiple #1 Contender Matches & Championship Matches over the years but WWE never seems to want to pull the trigger on a push for him.
Knight recently lost his King of the Ring tournament match against Jey Uso, this Friday on SmackDown and it caused a lot of backlash with fans. Many fans wanted to see him win the match and go to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam for the World Heavyweight Championship due to his ongoing storyline with them.
According to WrestleVotes Live on Fightful Select, there are many reasons behind WWE not giving Knight a stronger role at this time.
One of the reasons is that although he remains over with the crowd, there are internal concerns regarding his in-ring consistency. On Friday, he tried to hit a neck breaker on Royce Keys but failed to do so.
WWE also sees Jey Uso as a stronger worker in the ring, a good merchandise mover, and is more coachable which help influence his booking recently
