Preview Of Three Huge Events This Spring

Spring is nearly upon us and there is so much to look forward to in MMA and Wrestling. UFC 260 looks set to be a huge event, while WrestleMania is taking place over two days at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

We’ve taken a look at some of the contests which stand out and how we think they could unfold.

Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou 2 (UFC 260)

It is being billed as one of the biggest rematches in UFC history. In January 2018, Stipe Miocic defeated Francis Ngannou by unanimous decision. Since that loss, the Predator has won four of his last fights in the octagon.

Ngannou is the number one ranked fighter in the heavyweight division so he deserves his shot at Miocic. He is the marginal favorite in the Stipe vs Ngannou odds at -138, with the defending champion +110 to prevail again.

Miocic comes into the contest after back-to-back victories over Daniel Cormier to settle his trilogy with his rival. He will be fully aware of the test ahead of him. It’s a really tough fight to call but the preference this time should be given to Ngannou to settle the score three years later.

Sasha Banks v Bianca Belair (WrestleMania 37)

After winning the women’s Royal Rumble event earlier this year, Bianca Belair got the opportunity to choose which belt she would like to fight for at WrestleMania. She opted to take on Smackdown champion Sasha Banks in what will be the biggest moment of her career.

Belair has the potential to be the biggest star in the women’s division. To get there though, she must overcome one of the brand’s highest-profile wrestlers in Banks who is a Grand Slam Champion. Although the Boss has proved a tough force to beat over the last decade, it feels as though this is EST’s time to shine and claim the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Roman Reigns v Edge (WrestleMania 37)

Edge overcame 29 contestants to book his spot at WrestleMania 37. It’s been a long road back from injury for the Rated-R Superstar. Just a couple of years ago, it looked as though his wrestling career was over. He has overcome great adversity to get the opportunity to fight in the main event at WrestleMania again.

In Roman Reigns, the challenge could not be greater for Edge. Since his return to action, Reigns has been tough, mean, and almost unbeatable. Paul Heyman has turned the superstar into a machine so Edge has chosen the most difficult challenge of the three options which were available to him.

Edge does have the advantage of years of experience on his side. He is the wrestler the crowd inside the Raymond James Stadium will be rooting hard for. The Hall of Famer has a record which only a few can match in the history of the WWE. It would be a fairytale storyline if he did come out on top, however, Reigns must start as the favorite and it is hard to see him giving up his belt just yet.

Enjoy all the action over the next few weeks in MMA and wrestling. It is sure to be a fantastic couple of months ahead.
