New Japan Pro-Wrestling held its ninth night of New Japan Cup 2024 action as the quarterfinals of the tournament kicked off.
There were originally two quarterfinals matches scheduled, one of which was David Finlay taking on Hirooki Goto. Unfortunately, Finlay became ill prior to the event and was taken to a nearby hospital to undergo testing. Due to this situation, Goto advanced to the semifinals by forfeit.
In the other quarterfinal match, SANADA was able to get by Jack Perry to secure a spot in the semifinals which are scheduled to March 18th at Big Palette Fukushima. SANADA will face Hirooki Goto to determine who will make it to the finals on March 20th.

- Main Event: New Japan Cup – Quarterfinal: SANADA defeats Jack Perry (14:02) with an O’Connor bridge.
- Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji, Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI defeat “King of Darkness” EVIL, Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Dick Togo (17:04) after Tsuji’s Gene Blaster against Takahashi.
- Taichi & Yuya Uemura defeat YOSHI-HASHI & Shota Umino (15:41) after a Storm Clutch by Uemura against YOSHI-HASHI.
- KENTA, Chase Owens, Gabe Kidd & Taiji Ishimori defeat Toru Yano, Hikuleo, El Phantasmo & Jado (9:58) as Ishimori pinned Jado.
- Zack Sabre Jr. & Mikey Nicholls defeat TJP & Callum Newman (14:52) after a cross heel hold by Sabre against Newman.
- Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan & Francesco Akira defeat Tomohiro Ishii, Tanga Loa & Ryusuke Taguchi (11:25) after Cobb’s Tour of the Island vs. Taguchi.
- YOH, Oleg Boltin & Shoma Kato defeat Togi Makabe, El Desperado & Katsuya Murashima (8:03) after a kamikaze by Boltin against Murashima.
