New Japan Pro-Wrestling presented another night of New Japan Cup 2024 action as the tournament rolled into the Kaneoka Park Gymnasium in Osaka on March 15th. The final two second round matches were the featured bouts of the event.
In the first second round encounter, Yota Tsuji, who is highly regarded as the future of NJPW, faced El Phantasmo. After over 20 minutes of back and forth action, it was Tsuji who was able to hit a diving curb stomp to put away Phantasmo. With the victory, Tsuji advanced to the quarterfinals.
In the main event, which was the final second round match of the tournament, Ren Narita scored, what many are considering an upset, over Zack Sabre Jr to punch his ticket to the quarterfinals. The victory for Narita was somewhat tainted as he received outside help from his House of Torture stablemates to secure the victory over Sabre Jr.
Narita will now meet Tsuji in a quarterfinal New Japan Cup 2024 match on March 17th.

- David Finlay, KENTA, Chase Owens, Gabe Kidd & Taiji Ishimori defeated Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & Ryusuke Taguchi
- SANADA, Taichi, Yuya Uemura & DOUKI defeated Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma, El Desperado & Boltin Oleg
- Mickey Nicholls defeated Callum Newman
- Shoma Kato vs. Katsuya Murashima ended in a 10 minute time limit draw.
