Jim Ross Believes Darby Allin Is A Star In All Elite Wrestling, Says He Deserves All The Accolades

Jim Ross has nothing but the best things to say about Darby Allin.

Since joining AEW, Darby Allin has been a pivotal part of providing the best and craziest moments since the company was created five years ago. Allin recently took part in the final match of Sting’s career as he had one of the craziest spots of the year by jumping off a ladder from in the ring through a glass panel on the outside, despite that, Allin and Sting retained their AEW World Tag Team Championships against the Young Bucks in the main event of AEW Revolution.

Jim Ross spoke about the match and the career Allin has had on a recent episode of Grilling JR noting how scared and proud he was of Allin.

“I was scared for this kid. You knew he was going to try and do something special and something extraordinary. He did, and he succeeded. He was on his game. He was one of the stars of the entire night. Going through the glass and the glass cutting his back, very drastic, very compelling, that’s Darby. There is nothing too dangerous or too compelling for Darby Allin, it doesn’t seem like. He never ceases to amaze me. That’s why he’s one of the top pro wrestlers in the entire world, and I’m glad we got him. I know that match meant a lot to him because he felt like a lot depended on his performance and the things he was going to do. I had no idea about the glass, which is great for me because I could react naturally. It was horrible, in a good way. I don’t know of any other talent that would attempt or even consider something this drastic. Nobody but Darby. He deserves all the accolades. I love that kid. I just hope he can continue to dodge the bullets that he loads in his own gun and starts shooting. No assignment is too big. He created this stunt. This is what he wanted to do. Somebody didn’t come to him with a piece of paper, ‘we want you to do these three things.’ It was all Darby. For a guy to think all afternoon what he was going to do with the glass, I find to be extremely extraordinary and brave. I’m proud to work with Darby and he’s my friend. He’s a star. A massive star.”

Allin is currently scheduled to compete against Jay White on March 13 at AEW Big Business in what’ll be his final match for the foreseeable future as he plans to climb Mount Everest.
