Samoa Joe On Sting: He Has Left An Indelible Impression On The Industry, So Much Has Been Influenced By His Style And What He Represents

Samoa Joe believes no one deserves a send-off of the highest magnitude as Sting.

Both Joe and Sting spent a good majority of their TNA runs being enemies and friends throughout the years. Both men now work in AEW where they enter Greensboro holding gold and look to leave AEW Revolution with the belts still around their waist.

Joe had strong praise for Sting on AEW Unrestricted. This is what the AEW World Champion had to say about The Icon.

“When you talk about Sting and the wonderful relationship I’ve had with him throughout my career. He’s been a nemesis, a friend, a tag team partner. He’s been the man who has won a championship from me. He’s been so many things throughout my life and my career. One of the biggest things is that he’s been a sage voice, and in chaotic times, he’s been somebody that has been able to speak a little calmness into a very bad situation and help a young up-and-coming pro wrestler out. Of the many things he’s been to me in my career, those are definitely a few examples off the top of my head. For an illustrious career as he’s had, a quarter of that career I can only wish on to my most favorite person. Sting has definitely left an indelible impression on the industry. So much has been influenced by him, his style, what he’s done, what he’s represented in the ring. To see him finish up his career in AEW, it’s bittersweet, it’s a little sad, but no one deserves a send off of the highest magnitude as the Stinger does,” he said

The last time Joe and Sting shared the same ring was in 2013 when they were part of the Main Event Mafia in TNA.

Joe defends the AEW World Championship against Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland at AEW Revolution.

Sting will be in the main event where he teams up alongside Darby Allin as they look to successfully defend their AEW Tag Team Championships against the Young Bucks in a tornado tag match also at Revolution.
