Virgil (Mike Jones) Passes Away at 61

Rest in peace, Virgil.

Former WWF and WCW star, Virgil (real name Mike Jones) passed away at the age of 61.

Following a dementia diagnosis in 2022, health issues have been popping up for Virgil, which included two strokes.

Earlier today, wrestling referee, Mark Charles III revealed Virgil’s passing:

“My dear friends, it is with great sorrow that I bring news from the Jones family of the passing of our beloved Michael Jones, whom we know and loved as Virgil, Vincent, Soul Train Jones and more,” Charles III wrote. “Virgil passed peacefully at the hospital this morning and I ask that you pray for him and for his family. May his memory be eternal!”

Working with WWE for a decade from 1986 through 1995, Virgil was best-known for his time as ’The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase’s bodyguard before defeating DiBiase for the Million Dollar Title at the 1991 SummerSlam pay-per-view.
