Pro Wrestling NOAH Announces Victory Challenge Tag League

A new tournament is coming to Pro Wrestling NOAH as the promotion announced the Victory Challenge Tag League on February 4th. The tournament with get under way on February 24th in Yokohama and will conclude on March 10th at Kumamoto Castle Hall.

The inaugural tag league will consist of seven teams. All seven teams have been revealed and they are as follows:

  • Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba
  • Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa
  • Go Shiozaki & Atsushi Kotoge
  • Takashi Sugiura & Ulka Sasaki
  • Manabu Soya & Shuji Kondo
  • Saxon Huxley & Timothy Thatcher
  • Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf

The winner of Victory Challenge Tag League will earn a GHC Tag Team Title opportunity against the current champions Jack Morris & Anthony Greene. That title match will take place on March 17 at Yokohama Budokan.

NOAH has released the rules of the tournament:

  • Official matches will be competed with 20 minute time limits based on the GHC Championship rules.
  • A win earns each team 2 points, a loss earns each team 0 points and a draw earns each team 1 point
  • Official matches will be held from February 24 at Yokohama Radiant Hall to March 10 at Kumamoto Castle Hall.
  • The top two teams with the highest scores will meet each other in the championship match at Kumamoto Castle Hall on March 10.
  • If there is more than one team that reaches the championship, the team that advances to the championship match will be determined by the winner of a playoff match. If the playoff match ends in a draw, another match will take place with the winner advancing to the championship bout.

The entire tournament will be part of the upcoming NOAH Sunny Voyage 2024 tour. There has been no confirmation from NOAH if this tag league will be replacing Global Tag League which has been on hiatus since 2020.
