Former WWE And IMPACT Champion Mickie James Joins OVW In Major Behind The Scenes Roles
Yesterday, Ohio Valley Wrestling issued a press release, stating that Mickie would be joining the company as Creative Director, Head Of Female Talent Relations, and Executive Producer of their television product.
Mickie has been a big part of the IMPACT Wrestling roster for the past few years as a top Knockout in the company. She participated in the 2022 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble while being the current IMPACT Knockouts World Champion. Mickie has always been an advocate for women’s wrestling and helping to get women more opportunity in wrestling.
Prior to that, Mickie was part of the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and was a big part of their Empower show, which was an all-female PPV.
Over the summer this year, Netflix – in collaboration with OVW – released a reality series called “WRESTLERS”, which pulled back the curtain between the ring and behind the scenes of pro wrestling for all of the world to potentially see.
This Mickie James news come on the heels of OVW announcing a new investment into the company via a minority owner and strategic partner back in December of 2023, which would give the company more financial stability going forward.
This is all great news for OVW.
