Maki Itoh Experiencing Arm Numbness, Set to Take Time Off

Maki Itoh is on the mend.

TJPW, alongside Maki Itoh issues a joint statement announcing that the two-time TJPW International Princess Champion has been experiencing numbness in her am and has withdraw from all of her upcoming matches, including tonight’s TJPW event.

“Maki Ito has been experiencing numbness in her arm since her match at Korakuen Hall on the 4th, and after undergoing an MRI scan on the 5th, her doctor determined that she needed to rest and receive treatment. I will be absent from all matches scheduled for today, including domestic and international matches, for a while.

We will notify you regarding the timing of your return based on a doctor’s diagnosis and a judgment based on your progress. Today’s battle royale to win the challenge for the Princess of Princess Championship will be held by five players (Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi, Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Kamifuku, and Miki Watanabe) excluding Ito.

We apologize for the worry and inconvenience caused to our fans. In addition, after the diagnosis, it was necessary to notify each American organization that was scheduled to participate in the event, and due to the time difference, it took time to confirm, and the announcement of the player’s absence in Japan was made early in the morning on the day of the tournament. I would like to once again apologize for the inconvenience.”
