Deonna Purrazzo could be wrestling her last match inside an IMPACT Wrestling ring this weekend. It had previously been reported by Fightful back in September that she would be a free agent in January 1st pending a new deal.
Fightful Select also has the update:
“We’re told that Purrazzo intends to explore free agency, and no deal with IMPACT Wrestling has been reached.
There were some that believed that Purrazzo was set to stay with the company, as she was featured on TNA Wrestling graphics. However, we’re told that the last dates that are set for this weekend.
Those that we spoke to claim that things have remained amicable between Purrazzo and IMPACT Wrestling, and that the door appears to be open to reach a deal or come back.”
Deonna is scheduled to team with Gisele Shaw to take on the team of current Knockouts World Champion, Trinity, and her Hard to Kill opponent, former two-time Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace this Saturday at Final Resolution.
Deonna is also scheduled for the Final Resolution pre-show meet and greet.
The show is being held in the Don Kolov arena in Toronto, Canada, and as of this afternoon is officially a sellout.
During her time with IMPACT, Purrazzo has had some really great matches and been a CHAMP, CHAMP CHAMP, holding both the ROH Women’s and AAA Reina De Reinas Women’s titles along with the IMPACT Knockouts World Title all at the same time. Deonna carried the Knockouts Title three times for an accumulation of over 500 days, second only to Gail Kim at 702 days. Deonna is a former Knockout of the Year award winner as well, and has been one of the most dominant Knockouts in company history, dubbing her time here as ”The Age of the Virtuosa.”
If this is really it for Deonna in IMPACT/TNA, the fans will miss seeing her in what’s become the best utilized women’s division anywhere.
