Exclusive: An Interview With Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh
Since 2014, the name Kenoh has been synonymous with Pro Wrestling NOAH. Kenoh, the former leader of the now defunct faction Kongo, has proven to be one of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s megastars.
On October 28th at NOAH Demolition Stage 2023 In Fukuoka, Kenoh ended the seven-month GHC Heavyweight Championship reign of Jake Lee in a thrilling match that lasted nearly thirty minutes.. The title victory made Kenoh a three-time GHC Heavyweight Champion.
Kenoh is scheduled to make his first defense of his third reign as GHC Heavyweight Champion on January 2 at NOAH THE NEW YEAR 2024 against Manabu Soya at the Ariake Arena.
Kenoh graciously gave an interview to Bodyslam.net‘s Lewis Carlan as they discussed his GHC Heavyweight Title win, Jake Lee, Manabu Soya, If he feels he is the face of NOAH, Who he feels will fill the void left by Katsuhiko Nakajima, A potential title vs title match against IWGP World Champion SANADA and so much more.

Q: Congratulations on winning the GHC Heavyweight Title for the third time. How important was it for you to be the one to take the title back from Jake Lee?
Kenoh: Thank you. I think it’s the result of my strong desire to take NOAH to the top.
Q: Have your feelings for Jake Lee changed following the match on October 28th? Do you have more respect for him now?
Kenoh: I would like to fight Jake again. I think I can have another great fight with him.
Q: What kind of challenge do you expect from Manabu Soya on January 2nd?
Kenoh: A straight-up fight.
Q: Do you feel that you are the true face of Pro Wrestling NOAH and how much do you expect NOAH to grow in the upcoming year?
Kenoh: I am not the face of NOAH yet, but I feel I have momentum.
Q: Would you like to see Pro Wrestling NOAH form a working relationship with an overseas promotion and if so, do you have one in mind that you would like to work with?
Kenoh: If they are interested in GHC Championships, they should come to NOAH.
Q: Is there anyone in Pro Wrestling NOAH that you feel can fill the void left by Katsuhiko Nakajima?
Kenoh Yes. It’s me.
Q: Jack Morris, the new GHC National Champion defeated you in the N-1 VICTORY. If you defeat Manabu Soya on January 2nd, does Jack Morris deserve an opportunity to challenge you?
Kenoh: Jack Morris is not the only one. There are many others. Anyone can challenge me anytime.
Q: Would there be an interest by you in facing IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA in a title vs title match?
Kenoh: Not interested.
Q: With 2024 only two months away, do you have any goals set for 2024? What can we expect from Kenoh in 2024?
Kenoh: Kenoh will bring NOAH to the top of the wrestling world. To everyone, please keep your expectations high.
