Eric Young: “I Have Nothing Against Tony Khan, But Impact Wrestling Is My Home; That’s Where I Wanted To Be, So That’s Where I Am”

Eric Young returned at IMPACT Slammiversary in July to team with Scott D’Amore as part of Team Canada.

In a new interview with Nick Hausman of Haus Of Wrestling, Young was asked about if there was ever a chance of him going to All Elite Wrestling following his release from WWE.

“I talked with some friends there and people that I trust, and Tony had kind of mentioned that he was interested, but it just never materialized. And the truth is, I’m just going to get lost in the ether and in the mix like 60 other people there, right? The truth is I don’t have his confidence. Me and him aren’t close in any way, shape, or form.”

Young went on to clarify that he has nothing against Tony Khan, stating that he’s very respectful and kind.

“I’m kind of replacing one set of problems for another, and I have nothing against Tony Khan. From everything I know, he’s a very nice man. I met him a couple of times in passing. He treats the wrestlers with respect, he pays them very well, and is a very respectful man and a kind man. So, it’s nothing against the product or nothing against him. It’s just not my place.Impact Wrestling is my home, and that’s where I wanted to be. So that’s where I am.”

Eric Young was part of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match at Bound For Glory, and before that was in a 5 way match for placement in the gauntlet. He battled Jake Something, Jordynne Grace, Dirty Dango, and Champagne Singh. Dirty Dango won when Oleg Prudius attacked a few competitors on the outside and then nailed Jake Something with a heat butt, helping Dango to get the victory over Jake.

Eric Young is scheduled to team with Josh Alexander to take on the Motor City Machine Guns on October 26th – night 1 of the IMPACT UK Invasion Tour in Glasgow, UK.

The next night for the Turning Point event, Young and Josh again team up to take on UK locals, Subculture (Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster). Turning Point is being filmed on October 27th, but airing in November 3rd.
