Adam Copeland is open to possibly working a G1 Climax tournament.
During AEW’s WrestleDream event, Adam Copeland made his promotional debut to confront his lifelong friend Christian Cage as he was about to conchairto Sting.
Copeland’s debut was one that has took the wrestling world by storm as the YouTube clip has amounted an incredible amount of views.
Following his debut, Copeland discussed the idea of wrestling in The Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom, and one way to ensure that spot is to go through NJPW’s rigorous G1 Glimax tournament.
Copeland spoke on Battle on Battleground, noting that he wants to wrestle in Mexico, as well as possibly doing a G1 Climax tournament.
“That’s pretty exciting and a by-product of coming here is, ‘oh wait, hold on a second, Tokyo Dome.’ That’s on the checklist. Arena Mexico. I went there once. I was World Champion, but I wore a mask because I wanted to watch the show. I snuck in and watched the show with a mask on and just had a blast. I love the culture of lucha libre and the pageantry. Those two things would be very cool as a lifelong wrestling fan. Those experiences would be cool and I didn’t know they would ever be in the cards, so you have to write it off, especially after I had to retire in 2011, I couldn’t get those things done. Now I can get them done and that’s pretty fun,”

Copeland was able to defeat Luchasauras in his AEW in ring debut during AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday last week.
Copeland is said to be looking to take over the role CM Punk served in the company prior to his firing, minus the drama.
It was also confirmed that it was Beth Phoenix who recorded the “You Think You Know Me” in Copeland’s AEW theme.
On this week’s Dynamite, Copeland gave his “Rated R Rebuttal” to Christian Cage.
