Jim Cornette Accuses AEW CLO Megha Parekh Of Throwing “Stumbling Blocks” In CM Punk’s Way, Says Parekh Is “Close To Some Of The Boys”

It has been a tumultuous week regarding CM Punk. Last weekend at AEW All In, Punk was involved in yet another backstage altercation. However, this one would be different than those in the past in various ways. Namely, Punk not only fought with Jack Perry, he also reportedly lunged at AEW president Tony Khan while furiously quitting the company.

These events would leave Khan no other choice but to fire the Chicago native with cause, despite Punk’s drawing power and status as the companies “real world’s champion”. Punk has yet to comment on the matter.

Jim Cornette however believes that Punk was set up by AEW management namely chief legal officer Megha Parekh, who he accused of throwing “stumbling blocks” in the way of CM Punk. Cornette explained on Cornette’s Drive Thru, while also indicating he believes Megha is in bed with some AEW talent.

“Well, so Tony [Khan] finally made a decision, you think? I thought whoever really calls the shots over there is the one that would make a decision this big (…) I’m thinking because Megha Parekh [is] over there. She’s been involved in this since the start because she was one of the people that burst into his [CM Punk] locker room along with the buckaroos and their ilk and started the whole goddamn deal a year ago. And we know that Megha is close to the Bucks, not as close as she is to some of the boys.”

“She’s been the one that was screwing up contracts because she’s in charge of [the] AEW legal [team], trying to throw stumbling blocks in a way of bringing Punk back with messing around with Ace Steel’s employment and etc. She’s the one who has been trying to collect evidence for her friends, the buckaroos, all along. And she’s the one who I’m sure had a big hand [in] whatever other appendage she wanted to put in, in wording this so that a jury, when the lawsuit eventually happens, we’ll go, ‘Oh my God. Tony was so scared. Tony was so scared the night that he saw his first fight. It was traumatizing for the boy.'”

Punk has had an intense history of backstage drama in the promotion, with the AEW All Out Brawl perhaps being the most infamous incident in All Elite Wrestling’s short history and more recently, Punk has been reported to have had issues with several AEW stars backstage.

Megha Parekh has been present for much of the CM Punk drama for good reason and was the lead on the investigation into Punk prior to his firing with cause.
