CM Punk Defeats Samoa Joe To Retain “Real” World Championship At AEW All In

The long-storied rivalry between CM Punk and Samoa Joe opened up the PPV for ALL IN.

The “Real” World Championship was on the line as CM Punk defended it against his longtime rival Samoa Joe, who is also the ROH Television champion looking to prove he is better than the man he has beaten the most. It is the King of TV vs. the King of the World in the eyes of the world champion.

CM Punk was able to defeat Joe in the Owen Hart Cup on July 8th and since then, it’s been Joe who has said that the first-time win from Punk was a fluke. Joe would recap their rivalry, going back to their time in ROH, he challenged Punk to a rematch at All In so that he could prove that he was better than Punk once and for all. Now we’re here and we got to find out just how tough both men are eighteen years later.

In the end, a Pepsi Plunge from Punk would be the end of the night for Joe who took the pinfall as Punk retains his “Real” World championship to kick off the opening PPV for All In.
