AEW Collision: 8/26/2023 Preview

Fyter Fest comes to an end tonight on a pre-recorded episode of Collision, capping off what’s been a hard week in the world of wrestling. Fortunately, wrestling always moves forward, and such is the case with AEW’s Saturday night show. Transpiring on Wednesday at Duluth, Georgia’s Gas South Arena, here are the matches. Let’s dig in.

Willow Nightingale vs Robyn Renegade

Whilst dealing with Mercedes Martinez and Diamante, Willow Nightingale contends with a member of the Renegades. Though I hope the Renegades would reach some sort of goal to establish themselves, I imagine that Willow will win being the dominant force of joy that she is. I just hope this is given time and isn’t filler.

Keith Lee vs Zicky Dice

The rumors of Keith Lee’s departure from AEW had been greatly exaggerated, as he returns to take on a local talent looking to make their name in the company. Unfortunately, they face a Keith Lee-sized obstacle and that obstacle sure is nimble.

Orange Cassidy, Penta el Zero Miedo, & Eddie Kingston vs The Butcher, The Blade, & Kip Sabian

The gritty team of The Butcher, The Blade, and Kip Sabian face the babyface jambalaya in Orange Cassidy, Pentagon, and Eddie Kingston. This might be a one-sided affair that sets up the good guys’ war Sunday at All In, involving The Blackpool Combat Club with Santana and Ortiz.

Jay White, Swerve Strickland, Luchasaurus, & Brian Cage vs CM Punk, Darby Allin, Sting, & a mystery partner

What a collection of individuals. The co-holder of the TNT Championship in Luchasaurus stands alongside Mogul Embassy members Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage, with Jay White rounding up the guild. Erstwhile, the reunion of CM Punk, Darby Allin, and Sting awaits a mystery partner. I’m hooked for updates as to who that partner is. Wink, wink.

There you go, that’s the card! I’m not going to lie – I’m a little down due to the recent events. Losing Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt in the same week has taken a lot out of me. This will undoubtedly be a fun distraction, but I’m tired, y’all. Life sucks sometimes and you just keep going, hoping for less sucky days and in doing so, finding those less sucky days to be the good old days, cherished only when it’s over. Enjoy the show, everyone. I love you.
