Major League Wrestling announced yesterday that they have entered into a working agreement with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The first match of that working relationship was revealed today to be KUSHIDA vs Tony Deppen on September 3rd at Fury Road.
Following the match announcement, KUSHIDA spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about his upcoming debut for MLW.
I am excited to wrestle in MLW for the first time. I hear there are a lot of great wrestlers there, and I look forward to fighting them. I am ready to take on anyone. I’m ready to fight for the championship.
KUSHIDA is expected to come in as part of the MLW middleweight division. The current MLW Middleweight Champion is currently Akira. One would expect that Akira will be defending his MLW Middleweight Title against KUSHIDA at some point in the near future.
KUSHIDA has made appearances for IMPACT Wrestling and CMLL over the last two months.
