Terry Funk Passes Away Aged 79

Terry Funk has tragically passed away.

Funk is considered one of the greatest hardcore wrestlers of all time, possibly the greatest. Funk was a WWE Hall of Famer and a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

The news was first shared by Terry’s daughter, Brandee, via Mick Foley and Ric Flair on social media.

Terry Funk is gone. I just talked to Terry’s daughter, Brandee, who gave me the awful news. He was my mentor, my idol, one of the closest friends. He was the greatest wrestler I ever saw.

Funk’s last match occurred on September 23, 2017, where he teamed with the Rock N’ Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) to take on the trio of Brian Christopher, Doug Gilbert & Jerry Lawler.
