Exclusive: Vaughn Vertigo States Wrestling Kerry Morton For The NWA Jr Heavyweight Title Was A Really Special Experience, Would Love To Work For The NWA.

Indy star Vaughn Vertigo has been enjoying a very successful 2023 and seems ready to take that next step towards stardom. He has wrestled in 9 different countries and is heading for another European tour beginning on September 22nd. Some of the promotions he has competed for include Westside Extreme Wresting, Destiny Wrestling, C4 Wrestling, Limitless Wrestling and Beyond Wrestling.

Vaughn Vertigo joined Bodyslam.net’s Lewis Carlan recently for an interview on The Alliance Pro Wrestling Network. Vertigo discussed a number of topics and was asked about recently challenging Kerry Morton for the NWA Jr Heavyweight Championship in his hometown of Port Hope, Ontario.

That was a super cool experience. It all kind of came together perfect, it was literally two days after my 10-year anniversary in wrestling so getting to wrestle in my hometown for New Frontier who decided to run a show in Port Hope. Having never wrestled in my hometown, I’ve wrestled in Coburg which is about eight to ten minutes away but never actually in my hometown. Getting that opportunity to wrestle for the NWA Junior heavyweight championship against Ricky Morton’s son who’s this hot prospect and junior heavyweight champion of NWA, that was a really, really special experience to have my friends and family in the hometown arena that was down the road from my high school. It was a very, very cool opportunity for me.

Vertigo was then asked about NWA owner Billy Corgan and possibly working for the NWA:

Who doesn’t want to work for the NWA, who doesn’t want to work for Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins? I was hoping to come out with the NWA Championship but unfortunately that wasn’t the case, he got the better of me but still having the opportunity to wrestle in front of my hometown that was icing on the cake for me.
