Ace Steel Not Allowed At AEW Events Due To Being “An Insurance Risk”

We now have an update on Ace Steel and why he has not been allowed back backstage at AEW Collision events.

Ace Steel has been brought back to AEW quietly since the infamous All Out Incident where he would throw a chair and bit Kenny Omega.

Fightful Select have now provided an update on Steel’s status and it turns out he is not allowed at events due to him being an insurance risk.

Ace Steel was brought back to the company ahead of AEW Collision and is on the payroll, but he won’t be in the buildings and hasn’t been. Sources confirmed in May to Fightful that due to the Brawl Out situation, he was told that he was considered an “insurance risk,” and wouldn’t be permitted to attend the shows. After months out of the fold, we’ve learned that Steel met with Tony Khan in recent months and spoke about wrestling. Ultimately it was decided that he could return to AEW in some capacity while not being on the road, and would be permitted to seek work outside of All Elite Wrestling as well. The word was that his deal is up in the Fall of 2024. Steel supposedly confers on a lot of things, and having periodic conversations with Tony Khan, and suggesting things for CM Punk specifically. It was also suggested that he received back pay for the time that he was out.

We will have to wait and see if Steel will one day begin attending AEW events in the future.

Steel’s status of not being allowed at tapings was used recently by Punk to justify Christopher Daniels not being able to attend Collision tapings.
