WWE Hall Of Famer Says Brock Lesnar Is The Worker Of 2023

Brock Lesnar gets heavy praise from a WWE Hall of Famer.

Brock Lesnar has had an interesting year despite not challenging for a championship in the year of 2023, a rarity for The Beast.

However, Lesnar has also competed at a lot of Premium Live Events this year, including The Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Elimination Chamber, SummerSlam and more.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T gave his thoughts on Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes’ match at SummerSlam, noting Brock should win an award for his year so far.

“It was a great match. It didn’t have a whole lot of jumping off or anything. It was just two guys going out there, fisticuffs, fighting. The storytelling was really, really awesome. The Rocky Balboa versus the Russian came in there for a moment, that never say die Rocky attitude, you can just beat on me and beat on me, I’m gonna find a way to win. It was poetic, it was great. It was one of those matches that every guy on the card, if they’re wondering what it means to work at a main event level, look at that match, and it’ll tell you everything you need to know because wrestling is the art of going out and creating the illusion of a fight, a real fight, and those guys, they did that for me,” he said.

Booker continued, “It’s one of those things, man, those kind of stories, they never die. Those stories, I think wrestling fans can appreciate forevermore because that’s what wrestling is, really making you feel like you’re watching something that’s real. You know exactly what it is, you know what you paid to see. But when those guys make you feel like that, you can’t wait to see more, and that’s the beauty of this thing called wrestling. It’s the Shakespeare, the Romeo and Juliet, the Phantom of the Opera part for me that makes me go, ‘Man, I love this business.’ Brock Lesnar, what a worker. What a damn worker. I mean, come on. Brock should get the award of the year, as far as worker of the year, as far as I’m concerned. That’s how good he really made that match on Saturday night.”

Lesnar suffered an injury early on in the matchup, and will be out of action until 2024.

Cody meanwhile seems to be involved in a storyline with the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, but it will become more clear on this Monday’s RAW.
