John Cena Reveals How Much He Was Paid On First WWE Contract

John Cena discusses how much he was paid on his first WWE contract.

Cena is one of the most recognizable faces in the world of professional wrestling and with the notoriety comes a lot of money on new deals. However, when Cena was just starting out with WWE in the early 2000s, he could barely pay his rent with what he was paid a year.

Speaking with Kevin Hart on Hart To Heart, Cena recalled signing with WWE in 2000.

“My first contract with WWE was $12,000 a year. I quit my job the day I was signed. I think my rent was $1,000 a month. So all my money is now rent. When I told my mom, she’s like, ‘I hope you’re okay.’ My dad, I could have told him any other position and he would have been like, ‘Yeah, whatever,’ but I told him I got a job with WWE. ‘Oh, my son. This is unreal. It’s going to great. I can’t believe it.’ Still, to this day, he’s extremely proud,”

Cena recently made a surprise appearance at WWE Money In The Bank 2023 last weekend, and has made millions in both Hollywood and WWE.

We will have to wait and see how much money Cena has by the time he retires from acting and professional wrestling.
