Big Kon Discusses His Time At IMPACT Wrestling So Far

Big Kon showed up in February of 2022 to answer an Open Challenge by then-IMPACT World Champion, Josh Alexander. Kon was defeated by the champ.

During a recent appearance on “Busted Open,” Kon shared with Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer what he appreciates the most about working for the company right now.

“I think, for me, it’s the community. That’s number one,”
Kon said. “It’s the fact that we’re all there to help and elevate one another, which is really nice… I’ve seen people walk up to [Bully Ray] and he’s always going to be there if you ask him questions. I think that’s the biggest thing. It’s the fact that you get input. It’s the fact that it’s an older generation and a newer generation and that they’re all there to help one another. That, to me, is a perfect element for success.”

Big Kon unsurprisingly showed up about 9 months later in November of 2022 to join The Design, a spinoff of Eric Young’s “Violent By Design” group after Deaner killed Young.

It was reported by  Pro Wrestling Torch in January of 2023 and then later confirmed by IMPACT Wrestling in that Big Kon had signed a multi-year contract with the company. He’s been apart of The Design since officially joining the company.

The most recent match that Kon was part of happened last week on the 6/22 episode of IMPACTonAXSTV, when Kon teamed with Alan Angels to take on “Speedball” Mike Bailey & Jonathan Gresham. The Design lost their match after Deaner yelled at Angels causing a distraction, which allowed Mike Bailey time to get up from the canvas.

The foundation of their group seems to have some cracks in it, so the fate of the group could be in jeopardy. We’ll have to continue to monitor this situation as it develops.
