Edge Would Like To Continue In The Wrestling Business After Retiring

Edge and Beth Phoenix emerged victorious against Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley at the 2023 WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event. Despite their ripe age, Edge and Phoenix managed to keep up with Rhea and Balor. The finish saw Beth rushing in and hitting the Shatter Machine on Balor as Edge covered for the pin fall. Even though the Rated R Superstar is looking at retirement soon enough, he’s far from finished in the business.

During the post-show media scrum, Edge was asked about his immediate future in the wrestling business, most specifically after his in-ring retirement. The Rated R Superstar kept all potential options open.

“Yeah, I think I would like to kind of be a jack of all trades. For example, I’d still like to continue to act, and I’d still like to be able to lend my brain to this place. I’ve been doing this for 31 years, and I’ve been here for 25. I’ve been able to get in with 3 generations of talent. I’ve stood in the ring with Terry Funk, I’ve stood in the ring with The Undertaker, I’ve stood in the ring with Seth Rollins. There are not many people that can say that, and I learned a lot by doing that, and I had a lot of help along the way from the Rick Martels and Bad News Browns of the world. And they passed that knowledge onto me, so it feels like it’s only fitting if I continue to pass that on and I really love doing that too.”

The Judgment Day was founded in 2022 by its previous leader Edge, who oversaw its darker supernatural gimmick. After Edge was kicked out following Bálor’s addition to the heel stable, The Judgment Day gradually lost its supernatural elements and has since been portrayed as a sneering gang of bullies with no clear leader.
