Shinsuke Nakamura faced off against The Great Muta at the NOAH The New Year show on January 1st, 2023. After a hard-fought battle, it was Nakamura who stood tall and won the match.
With Nakamura currently staying in Japan, many fans wondered whether he will make his way to Wrestle Kingdom 17. While speaking at a press conference after his match with Muta, Nakamura was asked if he is going to be at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 while he’s in Japan. Nakamura stated that he will not be at the event.
No, I don’t plan to [attend NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17]… I haven’t been approached about it, unfortunately (laughs).

With his match against The Great Muta being such a huge success, we will have to wait and see whether Nakamura will compete in other promotions in the future.
