Kurt Angle Dispels Rumor He Tried To Take Over TNA’s Creative Direction

The Olympic Gold Medalist made his shocking debut in TNA Wrestling back in 2006 and had an amazing career there.

While speaking during the latest episode of his Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle addressed the rumors that he tried to take control of TNA Creative. Angle made it clear that the rumors were completely untrue and unfounded.

“No, I could tell you this, there are rumors sometimes and there’s the truth. That’s a complete rumor. I didn’t even know about that. Vince and I had no intention of taking anything from anybody. Maybe Vince did, I don’t know. I don’t know if Vince did this, I don’t think he did. He probably said ‘hey, Kurt and I want to take over Dixie, and we want to take Jeff out. Vince Russo got along with Jeff (Jarrett), too. So, I just don’t see how that came to be.”

Angle eventually left TNA and made his way back to WWE in 2017 and finally retired in 2019. He most recently appeared for WWE on Friday’s SmackDown where WWE celebrated his birthday in his hometown.
