Thunder Rosa Not Expected Back In AEW Until February 2023, Was Scheduled To Lose To Toni Storm At All Out

The now former AEW Women’s World Champion will not be back in the ring in 2022.

While speaking on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Rosa is expected to return by February next year. That is certainly a longer hiatus than fans expected.

The deal with Rosa was that, when she went down, she was going to lose the title at that pay-per-view (All Out) to Toni Storm.

They expected her back in November or December, in that timeframe, and I think the feeling was, because of what happened with Punk, where they gave him a couple of months, to be consistent they would have to do the same thing here.

Now it’s looking like February, so now I think they’re saying February’s too long.”

Rosa was forced to relinquish her AEW Women’s World Title, which was announced on Wednesday, due to the extent of her injuries. This means both Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter have been recongized as full AEW Women’s World Champions. Time will tell when Rosa will return to the ring for the promotion.
