Moments after their show ended tonight, IMPACT Wrestling took to their social media Twitter account to announce some new matches for next week.
Eric Young will be taking on Sami Callihan in a Death Machine Double Jeopardy Match, the concept is that it’s No DQ, no countout. Once somebody is bleeding then they are “in jeopardy” and only then can somebody lose via pinfall or submission. Everyone banned from ringside. It’s based off the legal term “double jeopardy”, which means somebody can’t be charged for the same crime twice.
We will also see Jessicka trying to bounce back from her defeat at the hands of Savannah Evans last week when she takes on Tasha Steelz next week, to hopefully get some of that anger out.
Maclin will be taking on Tommy Dreamer in an Old School Rules match, which is essentially a fancy way to call it a No DQ match. Maclin went looking for Scott Damore to get a World Title match against Josh Alexander, and instead Tommy Dreamer inserted himself into the situation and says that Josh is already set for a title match at Overdrive, but that he can wrestle Tommy next week.
Finally, we will see a semi-final round for the X Division Title tournament when PJ Black takes on Black Taurus. PJ Black defeated Yuya Uemura in the first round to advance, and Taurus defeated Laredo Kid to advance as well. The winner will face Trey Miguel at Overdrive for the X Division Title as we crown a new champion.
